Reading Ready

Reading Ready is designed to equip parents and caregivers with essential skills and knowledge to foster their child's early reading abilities. This interactive workshop focuses on three fundamental skills crucial for children's reading success: print awareness, phonemic awareness, and phonics.

As a participant, you will receive research-based information specially developed for parents and caregivers, along with printable resources to support the newly learned strategies.

Our Workshops

  • Reading 101

    Learn about the building blocks your child needs to succeed in reading. We will dive into the first three components of reading, and you will have the opportunity to practice implementing newly learned strategies. Best suited for caregivers and families with children ages 3-6.

  • Reading 102

    If your child has mastered their letter sounds but needs support with their comprehension and fluency , then look no further. You will learn the best ways to foster these skills, and we will dive deeper into complex phonics skills. Best suited for caregivers and families with children ages 5-8.

  • Writing 101

    Writing is a complex task that uses multiple skills. In this workshop, you will learn easy-to-implement techniques to help foster your child’s writing skills outside of school and bring the joy to writing. Best suited for caregivers and families with children ages 3-7.

  • Reading Boost

    Develop skills to help your child develop independence and increase reading engagement. In this workshop you will learn about the four roadblocks to reading and ways you can support your child. Best suited for caregivers and families with children ages 7-10.

  • Writing Boost

    If your child has writer’s block, come learn how to get them unstuck! You will learn ways to transform your child’s feelings toward writing and find the writing style that is best suited for them. Best suited for caregivers and families with children ages 7-10.
